吉林的文革大武鬥 / The Major Factional Struggles in Jilin During the Cultural Revolution

吉林省的文革武鬥很激烈，兩派群眾死傷慘重，因為武鬥中多次出動了坦克車和大炮。“九一八”，本是中華民族的“國恥日”，尤其是東北三省更加應該沉痛紀念。可是，1967年9月18日，在長春兩派群眾造反組織之間發生駭人聽聞的相互武鬥炮槍大內戰，增添了“九一八”“國恥日”的含義。 吉林省軍區“支左”軍隊在所谓二月逆流中與其他省的“支左”軍隊一樣，鎮壓了造反派，犯了“打擊左派（造反派）”的錯誤。在受到中央文革批評後，吉林軍區“急轉彎”“改正錯誤”速度之快速受到中央“表揚”。1967年8月17日，中共中央256號文件說：“吉林省軍區……你們《給長春市廣大革命群眾的公開信》是正確的，你們的檢討是‘痛痛快快’的，而不是‘吞吞吐吐，扭扭捏捏’。檢討了錯誤、改正了錯誤，一定能夠得到廣大群眾的擁護和歡迎。”吉林省軍區成為全國各軍區由打擊造反派轉變為支持造反派的“榜樣”。支左”軍隊 “急轉彎”“改正錯誤”，可是這樣反復折騰，有無數的吉林各地兩派群眾為之犧牲，這些都是“響應”偉大領袖號召”而產生的後果。可惜，至今，很少有人願意說出這個歷史事實。<br>The armed struggles in Jilin Province were extremely intense, with heavy casualties on both sides, as tanks and artillery were deployed multiple times. “September 18” was originally the Chinese nation’s “National Day of Shame,” especially something Northeast China should commemorate with deep sorrow. Yet on September 18, 1967, an appalling large-scale artillery and gun battle broke out between the two rebel factions in Changchun, adding a new layer of meaning to the “September 18 National Day of Shame.” The Jilin Provincial Military Region’s “support the left” troops, like those in other provinces during the so-called February Adverse Current, suppressed the rebels and committed the error of “striking the left (rebels).” After being criticized by the Central Cultural Revolution Group, the Jilin Military Region made an extremely rapid “U-turn” and “corrected its mistakes,” earning central “praise.” On August 17, 1967, Central Document No. 256 stated: “The Jilin Provincial Military Region… your ‘Open Letter to the Broad Revolutionary Masses of Changchun’ is correct. Your self-criticism is ‘frank and straightforward,’ not ‘hesitant and evasive.’ Having examined and corrected your errors, you will certainly win the support and welcome of the broad masses.” The Jilin Provincial Military Region became the national “model” for military regions shifting from suppressing rebels to supporting them. Although the “support the left” troops made a rapid “U-turn” and “corrected their mistakes,” this repeated flip-flopping caused countless people from both factions across Jilin to sacrifice their lives—these were the consequences of “responding to the call of the great leader.” Regrettably, to this day, very few people are willing to speak this historical truth.
